Although web based, it's very simple to run JournoTwit outside of your browser as a stand alone application and takes seconds to setup! If you're on Windows, download the installer here. If you use any of these methods - you can still run JournoTwit in the browser where necessary.
If you are running Microsoft Windows, simply download the installer here and you'll be up and running in seconds. It's just under 8MB in size and is based on Mozilla Prism technology - not Adobe AIR. It uses around 30MB of RAM when running and will uninstall cleanly if you don't like it!

There is no automated method for Mac - but there are only a few simple steps to take. Download Mozilla Prism and install it. Once installed, it will present you with a dialogue box where you simply enter the URL of the website you want to run as an application. Put in "JournoTwit.com" and it will allow you create icons where you need them. Couldn't be simpler!

The instructions for linux are much the same as they are for Mac - download and install Mozilla Prism.. On Ubuntu this is as simple as "apt-get install prism". Then load the program and when presented with a dialogue, simply enter the URL of JournoTwit.com. Simple :)

If you are running Google Chrome, it is possible to turn any website into an application shortcut from the settings. If you are a FireFox user, you can use the Prism FireFox Extension. On Mac, as well as these options, there is also Fluid.
